When Nick first called us, he had never been in a recording studio before. His main concern was being comfortable in a professional studio. As a writer & a spoken word artist, he had no experience behind music production and creation.
Our task was straightforward, but very technically. We had to get into Nick's mind to help him get his songs into the world. With no understanding of tempos, keys, and core rhythms, we had to dive right in headfirst and break down his inspiration.
The process was straight forward. We hung out with Nick, figured out what kind of music he liked & his influences. Listened to his lyrics and voice and figured out a proper key signature to reflect his voice and the song. It was a really fun & rewarding project.
